At Friday night’s Batesville Pioneers football game against the Harrison Goblins, the Batesville School District (BSD) recognized the school district’s childhood cancer survivors in attendance: Scotlynn Cooley, Sophie Krug, and Addysen Fulbright.

Every year over 10,000 children are affected by childhood cancer. The BSD takes great pride each football season to recognize those students within our district who are survivors, fighters, or who have been called home, the district said in a release.

The district wishes to thank everyone who participated and wore gold on Friday in support of the students and raised awareness for this very important cause. These students have overcome impossible odds and have done so with the true spirit and courage of a Pioneer.
