A 19-year-old Batesville man has been arrested after Illinois authorities allege he solicited pornography from a juvenile in that state.

A release from the Illinois State Police said Taylor W. Rainwater was arrested by Batesville Police last week after Cass County Illinois officials filed a five-count indictment charging Rainwater with child pornography on Oct. 12.

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation initiated an investigation in April of this year after learning a subject, later identified as Rainwater, was allegedly soliciting child pornography from a juvenile residing in Cass County. The release said state police agents from the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force gathered the evidence supporting Rainwater’s arrest.

On Oct. 12, an Illinois circuit judge issued an arrest warrant for Rainwater, setting his bond for $200,000. He was arrested two days later, on Friday, Oct. 14, by Batesville Police, the release said.
