Carl Glen Wallis, Sr., 86, departed this life on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born in Sylamore, Arkansas on April 14, 1936, to Joseph Austin Wallis and Sarah Pitts Wallis.
During his working years, he was a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and bird-watching. He loved to build things and talk on CB radios.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Glenda Jobe (Frank Haughom) and Julie Bowman (Ray), both of Southside; sisters, Genell West, of Locust Grove, Thelma Blackwell (Barry) of Batesville, Jo Ann West (Rob) of Ward; grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Sara, Josh, Amelia, Jeremy, and Colyn; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, son, Glen Wallis, Jr, parents, granddaughter, Summer Dawn Dill, two brothers, Doil and David Joe Wallis, and two nieces and two nephews.
A Funeral Service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Southside, with Bro. Jim Swinea and Josh Swinea officiating.
The burial will be in Barnes Cemetery in Bethesda.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. and continue until service time.
