Arkansas State Police report a Marshall man was killed Monday afternoon after his vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of another vehicle.
The state police fatality report says 65-year-old Michael Laurance Helms was northbound on U.S. Highway 65 in his 2018 Ford when his vehicle crossed the centerline and went into the travel lane of a southbound 2014 Freightliner, causing the front of Helms’ Ford to strike the Freightliner head-on.
The accident occurred on Highway 65, just south of the Little Red River Bridge in Leslie, around 1:30 p.m. The report said the weather was cloudy, and the road condition was dry at the time of the accident.
