Independence County authorities were involved in two separate pursuits Monday night.

The first involved a Dodge Journey that failed to pull over after it was observed crossing the centerline on McHue Road. Sheriff’s deputies eventually pursued the vehicle south on Batesville Boulevard and into White County.

The report said the driver of the Dodge drove across spike strips set up by White County Sheriff’s Deputies and also managed to regain control of the vehicle after the state police initiated two PIT maneuvers. It finally veered to a stop in the parking lot of a Bald Knob gas station after hitting an Arkansas State Police vehicle head-on, according to the report.

Authorities arrested the driver of the Dodge, identified as Jacob Joslin, 22, of Cave City, on one felony count of fleeing and eight misdemeanors.

Also arrested was Joslin’s passenger, identified as Lonnie Dale Womack, 45, of Batesville. Womack had an active warrant from the Arkansas Board of Parole, according to the incident report.

No injuries were reported.

The second pursuit involved a Chrysler Sebring with a fictitious license plate that wouldn’t stop after a deputy spotted it heading north on Batesville Boulevard.

According to the incident report, the driver of the Chrysler led deputies on a pursuit that at times reached speeds of 100 mph and finally ended when the Chrysler crashed through a barbed wire fence on Round Mountain Road. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled across multiple fields with deputies pursuing on foot for several hundred yards before they lost sight of him in the woods, the report said.

According to the report, one of the deputies was able to identify the driver from a prior interaction as Timothy Clint Davidson, 39, of Floral.

Davidson is facing one felony count of fleeing and seven misdemeanors.

Davidson was also charged in Independence County Circuit Court on Tuesday with two drug-related felonies: felony possession of meth and felony delivery of a controlled substance — fentanyl. Arrest warrants on both those counts were issued for Davidson.
