Arkansas State Police say four people died Thursday afternoon in Bono after the vehicle they were in crossed the highway, struck the front of one vehicle, and collided with another.
According to the fatality report, Herman Noel Deason, 18, of Black Rock, was driving a 2021 Hyundai southbound on U.S. Highway 63 around 5:45 p.m. when it crossed the center turn lane and traveled into the northbound inside lane, striking the front of a 2018 Jeep heading north. Another vehicle also heading north was unable to avoid the collision, the report said.
Deason was killed in the accident, along with three passengers: Kreccia Gail Jones-Pegler, 41, of Black Rock; Justin Lowell Pegler, 39, of Monett, Mo.; and one unidentified minor, age unknown. Another passenger in Deason’s vehicle was injured as was the driver of the Jeep.
The report said the road was dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
