Giving Tuesday generated impressive results for the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches (ASYR), as more than $80,000 was donated by individuals and companies during a daylong collaboration with Citizens Bank and the White River Now family of radio stations.

“We are grateful for Micah Beard and the Citizens Bank team for once again investing in our mission by offering a matching gift to encourage giving and for your leadership in the community by asking our local corporate partners to join Citizens in supporting the Ranch this year,” said Matt Cleveland, chief development officer at ASYR.

Funds were raised through more than 150 individual donations, making it the most successful Giving Tuesday event for the nonprofit to date.

Citizens Bank offered a matching gift of up to $5,000, which helped maximize the funds raised. Additionally, 42 associates at the bank previously committed to make monthly contributions from their paychecks, totaling just over $12,000.

“The bank’s ‘People First’ focus enables us to give back to our communities in meaningful ways,” said Micah Beard, Citizens Bank’s regional president and a past president of the Board of the Youth Ranch. “We appreciate each and every teammate and community member who stepped up to support this incredible organization.”

White River Now media personalities and bank personnel broadcast live on the air all day from the Citizens Bank headquarters in Batesville to support the nonprofit. Listeners and others stopped by the bank during the day to contribute.

The Ranch’s mission is to address, remedy, and prevent child abuse and neglect by creating safe, healthy, and permanent homes for children. Fundraising is a critical need for the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch which, since its inception in 1976, has provided children a place to call home.
