Thomas Edgar Cobb of Batesville, 75, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, in Batesville.  He was born June 30, 1947, in Batesville to Murphy and Allie Mae Cobb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Survivors include Evelyn Cobb of the home, Vickie Green, daughter, of Cave City and her husband, Steven; four grandchildren, Aaron Green of Batesville, Ashley Spann and her husband, Samuel, of Fayetteville, Allison Green of Fayetteville, and Addyson Green of Cave City; Judy McGaha, sister, and her husband Frank of Batesville; Bill Cobb, brother, and his wife, Ann, of Paragould along with several nieces and nephews.

Tom attended Arkansas State University and Wichita State University after graduating from high school.  His working career began in the retail business with stores in Kansas and Arkansas. In the early ’80s, he was employed by White River Medical Center where he served in several management positions including the business office and human resources.  He was instrumental in recruiting a number of physicians for the Batesville area, many of whom continue to serve the community.

In the late 1990s, his career changed to the banking industry with the newly formed First Community Bank where he served in human resources and marketing and enjoyed being part of the many milestones the bank achieved.

Tom loved meeting people; he touched many lives and made many good friends throughout his life and career. He loved his family and adored his grandkids.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 2 pm at Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville with Rev. Jesse James and Bro. Ron Canard officiating.

Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Green, Steven Green, Keith McGaha, Mike McGaha, Philip Landers, Brian Landers, Garrett Tuggle, and Samuel Spann.

Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Dale Cole, Mr. Boris Dover, the rest of the First Community Bank family, Bill Bundy and Frank Smith.

A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
