Obituary: Faye (Whiteside) Burton

Faye (Whiteside) Burton of Newport, departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the age of 86. She was born June 6, 1936, in Hollister, Missouri, the daughter of Jess and Birdie (Blakely) Whiteside.
Faye was a high school graduate of Newport High School and was of the Baptist Belief. She spent 40 years working as the Social Activity Coordinator for Pinedale Nursing Home before her retirement. Faye enjoyed watching and attending St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorback games. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
If you had the good fortune to know Faye, you loved her for her spunky attitude, loving heart, and her ability to weave a good story. Faye’s greatest joy and love was her family.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, W.O. Burton, on November 8, 1992; her parents; her twin brother, Ray Whiteside; and one sister, Maxine Teague.
She is survived by her three sons, Ray Burton and wife, Lenny, of Tuckerman, Matt Burton and wife, Barbi, of Romance, and Bill Burton and wife, Karen, of Jefferson City, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lee Ferrell of Moorefield; six grandchildren, Jennifer Burton and husband, Chip Youngblood, of Tuckerman, Kori Burton and husband, Rodney Cloud, of Jonesboro, Jason Burton and wife, Brandi, of Tuckerman, Kolby Burton and fiancée, Ana, of Tuckerman, Payton Burton and wife, Tanya, of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Kati Burton, and significant other, Jason Crisco, of Beebe; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kenlee Youngblood, Matti Stevens, Ean Green, Langston Green, Jaxson Burton, Lennox Burton, Sophie Staggs, Charlie Youngblood, Raeleigh Cloud, Kason Crisco, Sophia Burton, Keller Crisco, and Saylor Burton; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Balch-Johnston Cemetery, with Bro. Brandon Gates officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are her family.
