Lyon College invites prospective Honors Fellows to attend one of two upcoming Honors Fellows Program Welcome Days, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, March 8, on the Batesville campus, 2300 Highland Rd.
Honors Fellows Program Welcome Days allow students to familiarize themselves with the college and the Honors Fellows Program through campus tours, student research presentations, and discussions with faculty and current Honors Fellows. The events are designed to give attendees an in-depth look at the rigorous and enriching academic environment that defines the Honors Fellows Program.
Students who qualify for the program—those with a minimum ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1250, or an unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher—are invited to register. Additionally, students must meet proficiency requirements in English and mathematics prior to matriculation.
“The Honors Fellows Program is a transformative, community-based experience that challenges students to think critically, engage in meaningful research and become leaders in their fields,” said Dr. Stephanie Saunders, director of the Honors Fellows Program. “These Welcome Days provide an excellent opportunity for prospective Fellows to experience firsthand the dynamic academic community at Lyon College.”
The schedule for the day includes a check-in and welcome session, followed by breakout sessions for students and parents. Prospective students will participate in an academic experience called Odysseys, tour the campus and attend student research presentations.
Parents will receive VIP welcomes and learn more about the college’s commitment to academic excellence. The day will conclude with a reception and dinner featuring a commitment signing event.
Prospective Honors Fellows are encouraged to register early to secure their spot for one of the two available weekends.
